The United States Equestrian Federation held its first Youth Convention in January 2008. The convention was held in Louisville, Kentucky in conjunction with the USEF Annual Meeting. Dr. Larry Lawrence, KER's senior nutritionist, and Catherine Bishop, editor of Equine Review, were among a number of professionals who talked about their careers in the equine industry. Young riders from across the country got information on how to prepare for equine-related careers as well as some of the latest findings on current exercise research, nutrition information, and ways to incorporate hobbies and interests into gainful employment.
