Castello, a bay Holsteiner gelding by Cassini I, owned by Roger Smith of Southern Pines, North Carolina and shown by Elizabeth Towell-Boyd, is currently ranked 2nd in the International Hunter Derby finals standings after besting the International Hunter Derby fields at the Aiken Spring Classic in 2008 and 2009 as well as the 2008 Atlanta Summer Classic. Randi Goulding, the Smith's farm manager, relies on Pennfield feed to keep Castello in top form.

Castello and Liza Boyd will get their chance to compete against approximately 60 of the best Hunter Derby contenders at the ASG Software Solutions USHJA International Hunter Derby Finals at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY August 21-22, 2009.
