Kentucky Equine Research (KER) is pleased to announce that Dr. Mike Tomlinson is the new Chief Executive Officer of Kentucky Equine Research Australasia (KERA). Dr. Tomlinson is well qualified for this position by education, training, and experience. His professional credits include over 25 years of ownership or executive-level positions in fast-growing companies within the health and technology fields. He is a Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) judge and technical delegate, having officiated at a number of international equestrian competitions. A fully qualified veterinarian with a DVM degree from the University of California-Davis, Tomlinson also holds a B.S. in physiological chemistry from the same school and an M.B.A. from the University of Redlands.

Dr. Peter Huntington will continue his leadership of KERA's technical division. In addition to providing technical support to KERA's clientele throughout Australasia, Huntington will play a key role in the development of new products for the international market..

Kentucky Equine Research is pleased to announce its new affiliation with Korean feed manufacturer Je Il Feed Company. KER will help Je Il extend the scope of its presence in the Korean equine marketplace by ensuring the continued production of high-quality feeds. The brand alliance was formalized during a ceremony in Daejeon, South Korea on March 9. Je Il Feed company services feed dealers, racehorse trainers, breeders, equestrian clubs, and farms throughout South Korea, including the island of Je Ju.

KER officially welcomes Je Il Feed Company of South Korea to the KER network of feed manufacturers. Attending the Brand Alliance Ceremony in Daejeon, South Korea was (L-R). Mr. Kim Hyung Jun (Je Il nutritionist), Mr. Hak Rim Lee (Je Il Head of Nutrition), Dr. Clarissa Brown-Douglas (KER International Client Services Manager), Mr. Yoon Ha Un (Je Il Feed Company CEO), Dr Key U. Lee (Je Il Director of Marketing) and Mr. Chang Ick Hoon (Je Il Pet and Equine Product Manager).

"Je Il was looking for a technology partnership to increase its knowledge of equine nutrition and reinforce the company's reputation so that it will remain competitive in the Korean horse feed market. KER is very excited to be working with Je Il to help the company achieve its goals," said Dr. Clarissa Brown-Douglas, KER's international client services manager.

Je Il Feed Company was established in 1962 as a producer of livestock feed and currently manufactures feed for the poultry, beef, dairy, swine, aquaculture, pet, equine, rabbit, and deer industries. Je Il maintains its headquarters in Daejeon, South Korea but operates seven manufacturing facilities throughout Korea. Je Il is part of the Harim group, which is the largest producer of animal feeds in South Korea.

KER will add a new dimension of quality to the well-made feeds currently produced by Je Il. The partnership will keep Je Il on the cutting-edge as developments in equine nutrition occur. In the future, KER nutritionists will work closely with the nutritionists at Je Il to help expand the company's line of feeds to include specialized products.

With feed-manufacturing clients on six continents, KER is known for its ability to develop horse feeds suited for the particular regions in which they are to be fed. The company's research efforts are the cornerstone of KER, and conclusions drawn from in-house studies are used in the formulation of technologically advanced feeds.

In addition to its research endeavors, KER has a rich tradition of providing top-of-the-line feeds to the greatest equine athletes in the world. KER has not only helped fuel many of the world's most successful racehorses, but has also played a pivotal role in procuring feeds for the last four Olympic Games as well as other international competitions.

At the 2010 Premier Sale in Melbourne, Australia, seven of the ten top-priced horses were fed on KER-formulated feeds and supplements made by Team Member Barastoc Feeds. The two top vendors by average were KER clients Burnewang North Pastoral and Mill Park, both of which use KER All-Phase pellets.
