Ardverness Almira

Ardverness Almira, a two-year-old filly owned by Marie Kukawski, won the led part-bred Andalusian youngstock class at the 2011 Royal Melbourne Horse Show in Australia. The filly is by the national champion PRE (Pura Raza Espanola) stallion Pagan MF and out the Anglo-Arabian mare Abbeyance Almira.

Ardverness Almira joined stablemate Zorra MFI (also by Pagan MF) as a Royal Show winner. Zorra MFI claimed victory in the led purebred class and was also named the reserve champion led purebred at this year's event.

Both horses were given a variety of Kentucky Equine Research (KER) supplements in preparation for the horse show, including All-Phase, Equi-Jewel, Bio-Bloom, and Restore. In addition to these, they were fed Barastoc Groom, which is a blend of high-quality protein meals, oils, live yeast culture, vitamins, and minerals. Barastoc Groom isĀ  manufactured by KER Team Member Ridley AgriProducts.

The broodmares at Kukawski's farm are typically fed All-Phase from the time they are bred through early lactation, and then are fed Low GI Cube throughout the remainder of lactation.

The Royal Melbourne Horse Show is the largest breed show in the Southern Hemisphere, attracting over 1,000 competitors to the annual event. The next major events for both horses will be The Victorian State Championships to be held in March this year.

Kukawski is employed by KER as the Australasia marketing manager.

In the $3.5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200 meters) at Rosehill Racecourse in Australia, top filly Crystal Lily claimed victory. The Golden Slipper is the world's richest race for two-year-olds. The win was a career fourth in seven starts, with earnings of $2,289,250. Crystal Lily was bred by Contract Racing at Newham in Victoria using KER Gold Pellet.

Australian mare Typhoon Tracy won the $400,000 Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes (1500 meters) at the same race meet. Typhoon Tracy, a multiple Group 1 winner, was reared at Glenlogan Park Stud in Beaudesert, Queensland, using KER Low GI Cube.

Surprise winner of the $2.25 The BMW (2400 meters) was Littoria. The horse was sold as a yearling by Basinghall Thoroughbreds of Nagambie using KER All Phase Pellet and Equi-Jewel.

At the 2010 Premier Sale in Melbourne, Australia, seven of the ten top-priced horses were fed on KER-formulated feeds and supplements made by Team Member Barastoc Feeds. The two top vendors by average were KER clients Burnewang North Pastoral and Mill Park, both of which use KER All-Phase pellets.

Kentucky Equine Research (KER) was well represented at the races when the KER-fed filly Macatina, trained by Monica Croston, was ridden by KER employee Sarah Sutherland to win by a half-length in late Janaury.

In addition to her balanced diet, Macatina has been prepped and raced on Equi-Jewel and EquiShure™. Because Macatina is a high-strung filly, the combination of a hindgut buffer and a high-fat diet has assisted her in reaching the winner's circle.

When not in active race training, Macatina is fed All Phase™ Feed Balancer Pellet and rich West Gippsland pasture to ensure that she receives all of the essential nutrients required to recuperate and prepare for her next victory.

Congratulations to trainer Paul 'Frog' Murray and the connections of Predatory Pricer after winning the listed AJC Ming Dynasty. This win provided Paul Murray with his first success in black type racing in his short training career. Predatory Pricer has a real KER flavour as he is owned in partnership by Merringo Stud, where he was bred & raised on All-Phase pellets & now races in the Murray stable on KER Perform & Equi-Jewel, furthermore Predatory Pricer is sired by international breeding & racing conglomerate Darley's studs Street Cry, Darley also a valued KER client.

Predatory Pricer is the younger ½ brother to international superstar Takeover Target, who was originally owned & raised at Merringo Stud. Paul Murray suggests this hulking youngster could just be the next big thing in racing who unlike his famous big brother looks destined for greatness over further ground. A massive & still wayward colt he used his frame to advantage to withstand a buffeting duel in the concluding stages of the race. After resisting the temptation to geld the colt, connections now have an exciting and very valuable commodity on their hands.

Theresa Neimi runs a family horse barn in Ontario and is a customer of Brooks Performance Horse Feeds. Neimi uses Phase I, Phase II, and All-Phase to keep her Quarter Horses looking shiny-coated and in superb physical condition for their show season. Recently her children showed a mare and foal in a 400-horse competition. The mare, Doc Nirvana Bailey, placed first in her halter class, and her offspring, six-month-old Pacific Baileys Bully, was also chosen as the winner in a successive class. Eventually Pacific Baileys Bully placed as reserve champion of the entire show.

Situated on the picturesque far South Coast of New South Wales Meringo Stud is responsible for breeding two of the years most successful sprinters.

Takeover Target became the story of the year winning the Group Two Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot and following up with a gallant third place in the Golden Jubilee Stakes four days later. Takeover Target's career earnings now exceed $2.5 million.

Whilst Takeover Target was writing headlines overseas at home another Meringo Stud bred sprinter was making a name for himself. Natural Destiny had six wins from eight starts before winning his first stakes race the Group 3 WJ Healy Stakes at Eagle Farm.

Meringo Stud utilise KER's feeding advice through Equine Nutrition Advisor Jasen Bennett as well as feeding ALL-PHASE feed balancer pellet.
