A Brief History of HI-PRO Feeds
Hi-Pro feeds began working with Kentucky Equine Research (KER) in 1992. At the beginning of the partnership, Hi-Pro manufactured only one horse feed but recognized there was room for expansion in the Jamaican marketplace. By mid-1993, five pelleted horse feeds were launched, thus ushering in a new era in Jamaica’s horse nutrition landscape. These feeds include:
- Stable’s Choice with oats
- Stable’s Choice without oats
- Breeder’s Choice with oats
- Breeder’s Choice without oats
- Horse Supplement
- Ultra Sweet Horse Feed
The Stable’s Choice and Ultra Sweet feeds were designed for Thoroughbred racehorses, while the Breeder’s Choice products were formulated for Thoroughbred stallions, mares, and young horses. When used in conjunction with our Horse Supplement (balancer pellets) in various ratios, our stud farm customers can blend their own mixtures on the farm for foals, weanlings, yearlings, and long yearlings.
The experts at KER formulate the equine feeds manufactured by Hi-Pro, help with many other technical aspects of formulation, and assist in staging seminars.
In 2008 Hi-Pro Feeds was recognized by KER for 15 years of partnership and dedication to excellence in equine nutrition and feed manufacturing.
