A lifelong horsewoman, Wendy Benns has become one of Canada's most successful endurance competitors in the past several years. In 1999 he met 212 racehorses in the winner's circle, and in 1999 and 2000 was awarded trainer of the year honors on the Ontario Jockey Club/Woodbine Entertainment Group circuit. McMaster was also given the O'Brien Award for Canadian trainer of the year in 2000. Myckie Neubauer was chosen outstanding trainer of the year in 2002 by a group of her peers at Fort Erie Race Track in Ontario.
