Rod Curtis, the owner of Cache Commodities, was born into a family involved in raising purebred cattle and merchandising grain. With that background, he has always had a passion for feeding animals and optimizing their potential. In 1985, after attending Utah State University, he took that passion and began Cache Commodities.
The goal of Cache Commodities has always been to produce and market feed that maximizes the efficiency and overall well-being of the livestock and horses being fed.
Cache Commodities branched out with a commodity-only facility in Delta, Utah, in 2000.
Curtis realized early in the operation of Cache Commodities that he could manufacture beautiful feed, but he also wanted to make the most beneficial and scientifically formulated mixes available to regional horse owners. From that desire to create a line of top-quality horse feeds was born the brand alliance between Cache and Kentucky Equine Research (KER).
While honoring the age-old methods of creating the best horse feeds possible, Cache also is stepping into the modern world through technological advances. A new website, social media outreach, an online library of information for horse owners (www.Equinews.com/Cache), and electronic newsletters covering nutrition, health, and management are available for Cache customers through the company’s online library.
Cache prides itself on being an active participant in the horse industry through sponsorships of individuals and youth organizations.
