SWEET FEEDS
Pace-Maker 105 Maintenance Formula is a textured sweet feed formulated for mature idle horses, for barren mares, and for many performance or trail horses. Pace-Maker 105 is formulated using high-quality palatable feed ingredients and offers an excellent means for supplementing energy and other nutrients to horses on pasture. Pace-Maker 105 is a grain-based formula containing 10.5% protein.
Pace-Maker 130 Formula contains 13% protein in a textured form and is designed for broodmares, yearlings, and performance horses. This feed is fully fortified to ensure that the nutritional demands of these horses are met. Due to the role that maternal nutrition has in promoting optimal fetal development, it is critical that a well-fortified feed such as Pace-Maker 130 be fed to pregnant mares.
Pace-Maker 160 Growth and Development Formula is a textured feed specifically designed to meet the nutrient demands of young horses up to twelve months of age. Research has shown that young horses consuming feeds that produce a low glucose and insulin response tend to develop fewer development orthopedic disease (DOD) problems, so Pace-Maker 160 is formulated with added fat and fiber sources to elicit this type of response. Pace-Maker 160 is a high-quality bran-based formula containing 16% protein.
Pace-Maker Gold is a high-fat, low-protein textured feed designed for performance horses. This formula contains no corn and is highly fortified with vitamins and minerals. At 10% protein and 8% fat, Pace-Maker Gold is the right feed for mature, working horses or "hard keepers" who need additional calories to maintain weight. Because of the low protein content, this feed can be fed with protein-rich legume hays such as alfalfa.
Pace-Maker Performance is formulated to meet the nutrient demands of high performance horses. This feed contains a variety of energy sources including cereal grains, beet pulp, and vegetable fat and will meet the metabolic requirements of horses at high work intensities. The protein, mineral, and vitamin levels are carefully formulated to ensure peak performance. Pace-Maker Performance contains 12% protein and 8% fat, levels especially appropriate for equine athletes.
PELLETED FEEDS
Pace-Maker All-In-One Pellets are appropriate for barren mares and non-lactating mares in the first trimester of pregnancy. Micronutrient levels in All-In-One Pellets are far greater than most high-fiber feeds on the market today.
Pace-Maker Fat and Fiber Pellet is recommended for horses that would benefit from replacing starch and sugar calories with calories from fat and fiber. Despite its calorie density, Pace-Maker Fat and Fiber Pellet contains only limited amounts of starch. This feed was formulated based on recent research that demonstrated the nutritional advantages of fat and fiber to growing horses and performance horses. The superior micronutrient package makes it one of the richest mineral and vitamin fortified feeds in the Pace-Maker lineup. This feed is recommended for idle and working horses fed high-quality pasture or hay and can also be fed to lactating mares and weanlings in conjunction with a high-quality legume hay.
Pace-Maker Old Timers Blend is a pelleted feed formulated to address the nutrient needs of the older horse. Old Timers Blend is formulated using high-quality protein sources and optimal levels of vitamins and minerals to insure that the aged horse's requirements for these critical nutrients are met. Old Timers Blend also features added fat as a highly digestible source of calories that helps maintain body condition. Yeast culture and Aspergillus oryzae are added as a natural means of enhancing feed utilization and nutrient digestibility.
Pace-Maker Pellet is similar to Pace-Maker 130 in nutrient content but available in a pelleted form. Follow same feeding recommendations as Pace-Maker 130.
SUPPLEMENTS
Equi-Choice Mineral contains supplemental vitamins and minerals in a granular form. It is designed to be fed freechoice or top-dressed at 2-4 ounces to the regular feed. No additional salt is needed when fed.
Pace-Maker 25% Supplement Pellet is the "concentrate" portion of Pace-Maker sweet feeds, containing protein, minerals, and vitamins essential to all horses. Combine it with unfortified grains to balance a "home" mixture, or feed it alone to balance a diet for an "easy keeper" that does not require the extra calories contained in cereal grains such as oats and barley. A feeding rate of 1-2 pounds daily will satisfy the micronutrient needs of all horses except for salt.
