TEXTURED FEEDS
Pace-Maker 105 is formulated for mature idle horses, for barren mares, and for many performance or trail horses. Pace-Maker 105 is formulated using high-quality palatable feed ingredients and offers an excellent means for supplementing energy and other nutrients to horses on pasture. Pace-Maker 105 is a grain-based formula containing 10.5% protein.
Pace-Maker 130 contains 13% protein and is designed for broodmares, yearlings, and performance horses. This feed is fully fortified to ensure that the nutritional demands of these horses are met. Due to the role that maternal nutrition has in promoting optimal fetal development, it is critical that a well-fortified feed such as Pace-Maker 130 be fed to pregnant mares.
Pace-Maker 160 is designed to meet the nutrient demands of young horses up to twelve months of age. Research has shown that young horses consuming feeds that produce a low glucose and insulin response tend to develop fewer development orthopedic disease (DOD) problems, so Pace-Maker 160 is formulated with added fat and fiber sources to elicit this type of response. Pace-Maker 160 is a high-quality bran-based formula containing 16% protein.
Pace-Maker Gold is a high-fat feed designed specifically for intensely worked horses and for hard-keeping horses. Calories are derived from heavy-weight oats, steam-rolled barley, and soybean oil. Formulated with molasses for high palatability, this feed works well for performance horses with high calorie requirements and hard keepers. Generally, hard keepers are more high-strung and expend more calories as nervous energy. A high percentage of hard keepers are found within some breeds such as Thoroughbreds, American Saddlebreds, and Standardbreds. Pace-Maker Gold contains 10% protein and 8% fat.
Pace-Maker Performance is formulated to meet the nutrient demands of the equine athlete at various work intensities. Calories are derived from a variety of sources, including cereal grains, beet pulp, and soybean oil. With a high level of vitamin and mineral fortification, this feed is particularly suitable for horses that typically require small amounts of feed such as Morgans, Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, Tennessee Walking Horses, warmbloods and ponies. Pace-Maker Performance contains 12% protein and 8% fat.
Pace-Maker Epic is a high-calorie, no-molasses feed that features a blend of superior-quality steam-rolled grains, the palatable super fibers beet pulp and soybean hulls, and soybean oil. Pace-Maker Epic also includes flaxseed, which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, known to reduce body-wide inflammation and support cardiovascular health. This no-molasses, moderate-starch formula improves behavior and mental focus. Pace-Maker Epic is recommended for horses in all levels of athletic activity and contains 12% protein and 10% fat.
PELLETED FEEDS
Pace-Maker Fat & Fiber is ideal for horses that have difficulty with high amounts of starch and sugar. The majority of calories in this feed are derived from fat and fiber, preferred caloric sources for carbohydrate-sensitive horses. The vitamin and mineral fortification makes Pace-Maker Fat & Fiber appropriate for horses and pines of all ages and activity levels. This feed contains 12% protein and 6% fat.
Pace-Maker Pellet is designed for broodmares, yearlings, and performance horses. The fortification included in this feed will meet the nutritional demands of these horses when fed as directed and in combination with good quality forage. Due to the role of maternal nutrition in ensuring optimal fetal development, a fully fortified feed such as Pace-Maker Pellet is critical in managing the broodmare in all aspects of her production cycle. Pace-Make Pellet is a 13% protein and 3% fat feed.
COMPLETE-WITH-ROUGHAGE PELLETS
Pace-Maker All-In-One is a blend of roughage and grains with a balanced vitamin and mineral profile. Digestibility of fiber is maximized by the use of yeast culture, and chelated minerals allow for maximal digestion of micronutrients. Optimum levels of vitamins A and E compensate for nutrients missing in the diets of horses with limited access to pasture or fed lower quality hay.
Pace-Maker Old Timers Blend is formulated with the special needs of older horses in mind. Sufficient forage intake may be difficult as the horse ages, so this feed includes a portion of the dietary fiber requirement. This feed contains high-quality protein sources, added fat to help older horses maintain body condition, and elevated vitamin and mineral fortification to compensate for decreased absorption of these nutrients in the digestive tract. Yeast culture and probiotics (Aspergillus oryzae) are included in this feed to improve digestion of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Water can be added to the pellets to make a mash or slurry suitable for horses that have difficulty chewing.
SUPER CONCENTRATES
Pace-Maker 25% Supplement Pellet contains high-quality protein, vitamins, and minerals often missing in all-forage diets. Chelated minerals allow for maximal absorption, and yeast culture aids in the fermentation of fiber and mineral absorption. This low-calorie, concentrated source of essential nutrients can be fed by itself to easy-keepers, and it works well in diets for weight loss. Pace-Maker 25% Supplement Pellet can also be used as a top-dress to increase the fortification of a feed when the amount fed is lower than the minimum recommended.
Equi-Choice Mineral Supplement contains supplemental vitamins and minerals in a granular form. This supplement can be fed free-choice because salt limits its intake (i.e., horses will rarely eat more salt than they require). Offering Equi-Choice free-choice is an easy way to balance all-forage diets. To ensure intake, Equi-Choice can be top-dressed to the ration at a rate of one to two ounces daily. Using Equi-Choice as a top-dress is a way to increase the fortification of a feed when the amount fed is lower than the minimum recommended.
