PHASE FEEDS
Six feeds comprise the Phase Feeds line. From foalhood to retirement, there is a Phase Feed for every horse. Phase Feeds include Pennfield state-of-the-art SuperFlake® grains. These feeds contain sources of highly digestible starch that provide moderate caloric value. The Phase Feeds line offers an incredible array of solutions to most nutritional challenges (e.g., some Phase Feeds contain corn while others do not). Phase Feeds also come in varying protein levels to complement the forages being fed. Each Phase Feed is fortified with a vitamin and mineral premix. These premixes are formulated by Kentucky Equine Research to balance the nutrient profiles of forages found in the mid-Atlantic region. All Phase Feeds contain Diamond V yeast culture.
Feeds in this line include:
- Phase I - Foal's Choice. Fully fortified, palatable textured feed containing high-quality protein, and thus essential amino acids, for sound growth and development
- Phase II - Broodmare and Yearling's Choice. Textured or pelleted feed featuring proper fortification for all aspects of growth and reproduction; designed to meet the complex nutritional needs of broodmares and yearlings
- Phase III - Performance Choice. Ideal for equine athletes, Phase III is available as a textured or pelleted feed in 12% protein. Manufactured with or without corn for starch-sensitive horses
- Phase IV - Pleasure Choice. Low-calorie feed for mature horses at maintenance or in light work
- Phase V - Senior's Choice, Senior's Energized Choice, Senior's Energized Omega. A variety of formulas designed to meet the nutritional needs of geriatric horses. These formulas offer textured or pelleted feed forms as well as moderate and high caloric density.
- All-Phase - Ration balancer pellet that provides the vitamin and mineral requirements of easy keepers; can also be used to enrich concentrate meals consisting entirely of unfortified cereal grains.
SPECIALTY FEEDS
Pennfield Specialty Feeds are designed to meet the nutrient demands of horses with specific nutritional needs. Pennfield SuperFlake® grains play a key role in the nutrient profiles of the majority of these feeds. SuperFlake® grains are a valuable source of energy-dense, highly digestible starch. Calorie-rich formulations allow less feed to be fed. The energy levels of these feeds are also boosted by the addition of shredded beet pulp and vegetable-based oils. All Pennfield Specialty Feeds contain Kentucky Equine Research vitamin and mineral fortification along with Diamond V yeast culture.
Feeds in this line include:
- Ultra Plus - Textured energy-rich feed for hard-to-keep or hardworking horses
- Fibregized -A beet pulp-based, high-fat textured feed that is low in carbohydrates and starch; designed for endurance and three-day event horses as well as those requiring special diets; does not contain corn
- Cool ‘n’ Lite - Textured feed that supplies essential vitamins and minerals to easy-keepers or horses that become difficult to manage on starch-laden feeds; perfect for warmbloods, ponies and Miniature horses
- Equinox Sales Prep 14% - High-fat textured feed ideal for sales prepping, weight gain, and bloom; appropriate for horses competing in any discipline
GOLD MEDAL FEEDS
Gold Medal Feeds are manufactured with the nutrient requirements of high-level performance horses in mind. The unique combination of ingredients in each feed ensures top performance regardless of discipline. Vitamin and mineral fortification is provided by Kentucky Equine Research. Diamond V yeast culture is included in all Gold Medal Feeds.
- Ultra Max - Extremely energy dense feed formulated to meet the needs of intensely worked equine athletes
- EnduroEvent Ener-G - A beet pulp-based textured feed designed for endurance and three-day event horses; contains SuperFlake® corn

RACING FEEDS
Pennfield Racing Feeds are formulated to meet the incredible energy needs of racehorses in all stages of training. A variety of energy sources is contained in these feeds; some rely on traditional starch-laden grains such as the highest quality oats, barley, and Pennfield’s state-of-the-art SuperFlake® corn. Others use energy-rich fat and fiber sources to provide calories. Beet pulp and vegetable oils, for instance, are used to increase calorie density. All of the Pennfield Racing Feeds contain high-quality vitamin and mineral fortification.
Feeds in this line include:
- Eclipse - Energy-rich textured feed complete with antioxidants, highly available vitamins and minerals, and super fibers
- Replete - Fully fortified beet pulp-based textured feed for all racehorses, particularly useful for hard-keeping horses; does not contain corn
